Each day, thousands of people reach out to Lifeline because they don’t know where else to turn. In moments of distress, speaking on the phone isn’t always possible.
Your donation to our Help @ Hand Giving Day provides access to support through text and web chat, the Support Toolkit, and the Beyond Now app. Lifeline’s digital services allow people to access support in a way that works best for them in moments of overwhelm or crisis.

Our digital crisis support services are experiencing more demand than ever.
Over the past year alone:
📱 87,690 text conversations were answered (up 14.1%)
🖥 142,871 web chat conversations were held (up 11.7%)
💙 Lifeline’s website and self-led resources supported 1.5 million people (up 12.4%)
Every one of these moments represents someone reaching out through the device they have at hand—often at their most vulnerable.
We must continue to be there for them. Your support makes that possible.
Social gatherings can increase tensions where relationships are strained. Even people with close relationships may not feel comfortable sharing feelings of distress or ‘burdening’ loved ones at this time of year.
It’s crucial that Lifeline can be here for everyone who needs us, no matter how, when or why they reach out.

Help more people access support when they need it most
The Support Toolkit offers trusted, practical resources people can utilise in their own time and return to whenever they need guidance or coping strategies.
Text and web chat provide an immediate, discreet way to connect with a crisis supporter when someone may not feel safe or comfortable speaking on the phone, or just prefers to type rather than talk.
The Beyond Now app helps people create personalised safety plans, giving them strength and strategies to stay safe during crisis moments and beyond
